1. Overview

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Typr, a desktop software developed and operated by RHAMS LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing or using Typr, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

Typr is for adult users (18+) only.

2. What Typr Does

Typr is an AI notepad that records, transcribes, summarizes, and allows you to chat with your meeting notes.

The software is local-first: most data is processed and stored on your device. Some optional features (such as telemetry, crash reports, or billing) use secure third-party services.

3. License to Use

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Typr on your personal or work computer, solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
  • Rent, sell, sublicense, or distribute copies to others.
  • Circumvent technical protections or licensing controls.
  • Use Typr for unlawful or harmful purposes.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time without notice.

4. Open-Source Components (AGPL)

Typr includes components licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3 (AGPL-3.0).

In compliance with AGPL-3.0, the complete corresponding source code is available to all current users.

Request process:

To request source code, email support[at]typrapp[dot]com with:

  • Your account email and
  • Your last invoice number or subscription ID.

We will reply with a Source Code Request Form. After verification, we will deliver access via private repository invite or expiring encrypted link within 14 business days.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and telemetry preferences.

By using Typr, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Privacy Policy.

6. Billing & Subscriptions

Payments for Typr are processed securely through Stripe Checkout.

We do not collect or store payment card information.

Your access to paid features continues while your subscription is active.

Refund requests or billing inquiries should be sent to support[at]typrapp[dot]com or handled through the FAQ section on our website.

All prices and billing terms are subject to change with prior notice.

7. User Data & Content

  • All recordings, transcriptions, summaries, and notes are stored locally on your device.
  • We do not upload, access, or store your meeting data.
  • You are solely responsible for managing, exporting, or deleting your local files.
  • If you enable telemetry or crash reporting, only limited technical data (never your content) may be shared as described in the Privacy Policy.

You agree not to use Typr to record or process audio without the consent of all participants, where required by law.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, titles, and interests in Typr (excluding open-source components) belong to RHAMS LLC.

All trademarks, logos, and trade names used in Typr remain our property.

You retain ownership of your notes, transcriptions, and any content you create.

9. Disclaimers

Typr is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We do not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted or error-free operation,
  • that the app will meet your expectations, or
  • the accuracy of AI-generated transcriptions or summaries.

You use the app at your own risk. AI results are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies or bias.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • RHAMS LLC and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to Typr will not exceed the total fees you paid (if any) during the 12 months prior to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms or misuse the software.

Upon termination, you must stop using and delete Typr from your device.

12. Updates and Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Updates take effect when published on our website or in the app. Continued use means you accept the changes.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida.

If you are located in the EU, you may also have mandatory consumer rights under your local laws, which are not waived by this agreement.
